Shrink-sleeve firm Chadwicks has produced a seven-colour UV flexo-printed sleeves for the aloe vera based sports drink firm, Aloevit
AloeVit is an energy drink that is said to be the first in Europe that combines vitamins and amino acids with Aloe Vera and was launched in the summer of 2010. The sugar-free drink is available in four flavours.
Chadwicks printed the sleeves on 50-micron film with a subtle colour for a quality finish that helps differentiate AloeVit from other sports drinks.
Jas Rayatt of Leicester-based Raycash, which produces AloeVit, said: “Chadwicks has provided us with a fantastic quality sleeve that will allow AloeVit to compete in this highly competitive market.”
Bury-based Chadwicks is part of Clondalkin’s flexible packaging division and produces pre-cut lids and shrink sleeves.
The makers of Aloevit, an aloe vera based fruit flavoured water, approached London based independent design consultant David Roberts to develop the product brand which launched last year with four flavours: Peach, Lemon & Lime, Orange and Mango and Black Cherry.
One of the main aspects of the brief was to set the product apart from other fruit water and give it [Aloevit] shelf presence. David explains that there seemed to be a generic design appearing in stores that relied on transparent ‘fruit splash’ labelling which, under the harse lighting of supermarket shelving became vague and indistinguishable.
The label was designed to be clear and informative yet fun and different right down to the nutritional ‘traffic light’ daily guideline.
